Equanimity can best be summed up with the first sentence of the Serenity Prayer: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.” But it also needs to be balanced by Angela Davis’ rephrasing: “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
